How do I start the Mediabee application?

Find the Mediabee icon () on your desktop, quick launch menu, or on the Program Menu and select it.

How do I shut down the Mediabee application?

If you're running the application in Windows mode, just use the X icon on the top right corner. Remember, you need to keep the application running in order to receive reminders, have your data backed up at midnight, etc.

How do I make an entry on the monthly calendar?

To make an entry on the monthly calendar, click on a date. An entry window pops up with the focus set to the quick entry text box. Type in the entry using the what, when, who shorthand. A lot of information about this is provided in the help files and tutorials. You can also use the Memo Pad interface.

How do I make an entry on the day planner?

Be sure to check out the powerful Memo Pad interface. It is used to make entries on the Day Planner as well as to pretty much every other part of the application.

I don't understand the logic for your shorthand. Can you give me a quick explanation?

First of all, the general shorthand for an entry is what, when, who. Comma is a special character that separates these three elements and should only be used for that purpose. No more than 2 commas should be used in an entry.

The other special character is the semicolon (;). This character is used to separate the elements of when. For when, you can specify the date range, day of week range, and time range, in that order, separated by ";".

For an event that occurs every Tuesday at 4pm, you would write

Tue;4p

as shorthand. If the same event occurs during the school year, September through June, you can write it as

Sep-Jun;Tue;4p

The semi-colon also separates users in who. So, an event for Mark would be written as

Soccer, 4p, Mark

but if Nancy is also going to that event, it would be written as

Soccer, 4p, Mark;Nancy

I have the application running as my desktop, but I cannot Alt-Tab to it. How do I quickly get to my desktop?

A quick way to get to your desktop is to find the Windows key () and use the Win+D key combination.

How do I print a calendar?

Printing support is currently limited, although it works. Printing support is being improved. If you're looking for something better than what's currently available through the Print title bar icon, here is a suggestion. Until the improved printing features become available, use a screen capture and print of the monthly view after clicking on the Expand icon. One straightforward way to do this is to use the Alt+PrintScreen keys and doing an Edit-Paste into Word or the free image viewer IrfanView (http://irfanview.com) and then using that program to print to your printer.
