How to Specify
Entries
Making entries on the Mediabee Calendar should be as quick
and
easy as writing them down on a desk or wall calendar.
We want you to easily use this
system. Get comfortable with it before you start experimenting. You can
use the system as a wall calendar, typing in almost
anything
(except for some reserved characters like commas) - and when you're
ready for structure, start using the short-hand mentioned
here.
Don't get hung up on the short-hand, and use the cheat sheet freely.
The Creating Entries - Basic
and Creating Entries -
Advanced tutorials show you step-by-step how to create common
entries on the Mediabee Calendar. This document shows you
examples of some common types of entries.
Make each entry on a separate line using the short-hand what,
when, who -- that
is, activity name comma
time of activity comma
family member. Entries can added for a specific day or for a longer
timeframe.

How to Specify When
The short-hand for when, that is, what you enter between what and who for a calendar entry, is:
date range ; days of week ; time range
It can be very simple to
very
complex depending on what you need. Remember the following:
- When the
date
range is not
specified, it is assumed to be every day. (If you make an entry
through the monthly calendar popup, you've already picked a date.)
- When the
days of
week are not
specified, they are assumed to be all days of the week.
- The ";" separates date range, days, and
time.
- Where there
is
only one ";" it means that
you've only
specified days and time.
- Where
there
are two ";"s, you've specified date range, days,
and
time.
- Some
date
ranges have been
predefined: months (Jan, Feb, etc), seasons (spring, summer, fall,
winter).

How to Specify Who
The short-hand for who is: person1;
person2; person3.
You can specify just one person by first name (one of the names
registered through the Registration screen), or you can specify more
than one person in one of 2 ways:
- If you specify all, it
means all persons
- If you want to specify more than one person, simply specify
them
with separating semi-colons
