Monthly Planner: Basic Entries

This tutorial is for a beginning user.  Please consult our advanced tutorial if you're already familiar with the basics.

Step 1. Click on the date you want to make an entry.

Step 2. An entry box pops up.

Step 3. Type in an entry and hit enter:


Step 4. The entry will be added to the popup:



You can make as many entries as you want in the popup.
Step 5. Let's type in another entry - this time we'll specify a time:


Step 6. Hit enter, and this entry will also be added to the calendar, as follows:



Step 7. Next let's create an appointment specifically for Joe for 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, as follows:



Hit enter, and this entry will also be added to the calendar, as follows:



Now hit enter again, and the popup window will close, and you'll see the entries filled into the monthly calendar:



Syntax Tips:

Note that we specified the time as 4-5p.  If the time were 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm, we could have specified it simply as 430-530p.  You could type it in as 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm, but that requires a lot more typing.  If you're more comfortable with that approach, by all means use that syntax instead.

In general, you make an entry using the format:

what, when, who

with when and who being optional.  Who needs to be one of the family members' first names as specified in Setup.

Just remember the phrase what, when, who.
(Note the alphabetical order of the vowels and you won't have trouble remembering.)
